Delfin works with Government for Yarrabilba Approval

Australia’s largest developer of master planned communities, Delfin Lend Lease, is continuing to work with the Queensland Government and local councils for approval of its $4 billion Yarrabilba community in south-east Queensland.

Yarrabilba will eventually cover 2,014 hectares and have an expected population of 52,000 people in 23,000 homes within 30 years.

Delfin Lend Lease Queensland Regional Manager Andrew Brimblecombe said Delfin had developed a strong working relationship with the Beaudesert Shire Council and would be working collaboratively with the Logan City Council in the future.

“With the recent boundary changes, Delfin looks forward to working closely with the Logan City Council to progress Yarrabilba and deliver the real benefits of the surrounding community. Many of Delfin’s projects have life spans of several decades so we are used to working collaboratively with a range of government authorities over many years to develop quality communities.”

Mr Brimblecombe said Yarrabilba would become the company’s Australian flagship and an international benchmark for the development of socially and environmentally sustainable urban communities.

“Yarrabilba will be a community for everyone and boast state-of-the-art facilities expected of a city of 52,000 people. As well as the world class community and recreational facilities to be delivered, Yarrabilba will have a focus on job creation and skills development,” he said.

“Yarrabilba will continue the strong community initiatives instigated by the nearby Delfin community of Woodlands, such as the School to Work program, which facilitates trade work experience opportunities for local secondary school students at Canterbury College, Kingston College, Loganlea State High School and Marsden State High School.

“We will continue to work with the Queensland Government to deliver the worlds first Environmental Business Cluster at Yarrabilba and have already received strong interest from leading international and national businesses which are keen to participate.

“It is Delfin Lend Lease’s objective for the Environmental Business Cluster to become the nation’s premier precinct for businesses in the environmental goods and services industry, creating jobs and world-class research and development.

Delfin Lend Lease is Australia’s largest developer of masterplanned communities with more than 25 communities across eight key population centres throughout Australia.
